🌤️ OpenWeather - WeatherAPI Overview

WeatherAPI is an OpenWeather service that provides real-time and forecasted weather data for all locations worldwide. It offers endpoints for accessing current conditions, forecasts, historical data, and more.

Data Extraction Process

To extract data from Weather API we will follow the following process:

• Sign in to OpenWeather: Create our free OpenWeather account.
• Get an API key to access WeatherAPI
• Make API Requests:
  1. Use Python to send requests to WeatherAPI endpoints, specifying parameters like location, time period, and data format.
  2. Receive JSON Response: WeatherAPI responds with data in JSON format, containing relevant weather information.
• Transform fetched data: **Use Python scripts to process the JSON response. Extract and manipulate the required weather data.

Sign in to OpenWeather

Go to the OpenWeather site and click on “Pricing” as shown in the screenshot below:

Under the Free Plan option, click “Get API key”:

Fill in the required fields to create your free account:

Set Purpose to “Education/Science” and click “Save”:
